Happy birthday

Steven is 34 today and I want to tell him Happy Birthday!  It seems like it wasn't long ago when I was making him a scrapbook to send him for his 29th birthday in Afghanistan.  We've been through so much and celebrated many birthdays together since them.  God blessed me with a husband that is greater than I ever dreamed. I love him with all my heart.

Please continue to pray as he searches for a job.  The interview went great the other day but it was only for a part-time job and only for 3 months.

Happy birthday Steven and I love you!

Trusting God

It has been forever since I've posted.  I'm working with three year olds for the summer at the school my mom works at, so I've been beyond busy this summer.  It is nice to have a break in the middle of the day....nap time.  Steven is working here as the Gross Motor (PE) teacher for the summer.

Today, I come asking for prayer. Last night, I found myself literally crying (could not stop the tears from falling) out to God to provide Steven with a job.  Though we've just started summer break, school will be here before we know it.  Because he graduated with his Education degree the year that pretty much no one is hiring, we know that it may be a long shot.

Today, however, he is meeting with the Athletic Director here at Trinity.  They are in need of several coaches so it is a possibility.

Steven has been stressed about not having a job lined out.  When he is stressed, he constantly has stomach aches/pains (due to a hyeital hernia). He still hasn't heard from Barksdale AFB about the security job.  He heard from San Antonio that he was qualified for the job and his resume and application had been sent on.

I have always been taught to pray specifically and that is exactly what I did last night.  I prayed that God would open a door this week for a job.  I prayed that Steven would hear from Barksdale this week (whether they want him to work there or not).  I prayed that he would be able to meet with the Athletic Director at Trinity.

God is already answering prayers...as I knew He would. Please pray that God will open the door to the job He has for Steven.

Someone Important to me

Before I begin, I have to say that there are so many people I could write about that are important to me (and I will some other time).  In writing today, my students had to write about someone that is important to them (and of course, why they are important to them).

a hint to who I'll write about today on her wedding day nearly 5 years ago

My sister is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside.  Though we've had our differences in the past, we still love each other (I hope she would say the same about me...hehe).  She's my best friend and is always there for me when I need her.  Brittany knows exactly what to say at the right time.  When I need a laugh, I can ALWAYS count on her to give me one.  When I need a smile, she has one waiting.  In times of trouble, I can count on her to keep me in her prayers and call to check on me.  God blessed me with an incredible sister, even though I told mom and dad to take her back to the hospital where they found her when I was just 2 1/2.  I didn't see a need for her then, but I couldn't live without her now.

A year ago today, Britt was put in hospital for week while we waited on Mason and Maddox to join our family.  They came a week later and have blessed our family since.  Brittany is the perfect mom to those sweet boys, our nephews.  Thank you Britt, for being the greatest sister I could ask for.  Love you!

Job

I write today asking that you all say a prayer as Steven is searching for a job.  He graduated in May from ETBU with a degree in education.  If you live in Texas, you know that there are NO teaching jobs, especially PE teachers.  He turned in an application with Barskdale AFB to be a security guard.  Because of his 10 years of military experience, he has a great resume and will fit the job perfectly.  He would not need much training, would get benefits, it will pay well, and he seems really excited about it.  Right now, he's working as the PE/gross motor and upper level teacher at Trinity and having a good time.  We know that God will provide the perfect job at the perfect time.
